Le Christ en croix
Ce Christ en croix, daté du 16e siècle, était placé à l’extérieur de l’église, à côté de l’entrée principale. Le Christ y est représenté nu, à l’exception du périzonium, un pagne. Au-dessus de sa tête, on observe une plaque avec l’inscription INRI, acronyme de Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Jésus le Nazaréen, roi des Juifs).
Pour protéger la statue des intempéries, une petite toiture en métal dominait la croix, mais avec le temps, la figure du Christ s’est détériorée, ce qui a conduit à sa restauration en 2022.
Christus aan het Kruis
Deze Christus aan het kruis uit de 16e eeuw werd buiten de kerk geplaatst, naast de hoofdingang. Christus is naakt afgebeeld, met uitzondering van het perizonium, een lendendoek. Boven zijn hoofd bevindt zich een plaat met het opschrift INRI, wat staat voor Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Jezus de Nazarener, Koning der Joden).
Om het beeld te beschermen tegen de weersomstandigheden werd een klein metalen dak over het kruis geplaatst. Toch verslechterde mettertijd de staat van het Christusbeeld en uiteindelijk werd het in 2022 gerestaureerd.
Christ on the Cross
This Christ on the Cross, from the 16th century, was placed outside the church, next to the main entrance. Christ is shown naked, except for the perizonium, a loincloth. The crucifix includes a plaque above Jezus head with the inscription INRI, which stands for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews).
To protect the statue from the weather, a small metal roof was placed over the cross, but over time the figure of Christ deteriorated, leading to its restoration in 2022.
